Three-year-old, Pierson was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma at a young age, and for one day Make-A-Wish® Oklahoma made sure that his illness was the last thing on his mind.
Pierson loves pirates, so when he wished to have a pirate party with a treasure hunt Make-A-Wish Oklahoma made sure that it was everything he could dream of – and more! Four real-life pirates greeted pirate Pierson at the treasure hunt, where they followed clues to find his hidden treasure. Clues were hidden by the river, in the trees, by a duck pond and all throughout the Chesapeake Energy Campus, and finally led to a treasure chest packed with toys and goodies. After finding his hidden treasure, Pierson was taken to his own Pirate Party to celebrate with his family, friends and loved ones. He spent the day playing with his new pirate friends inside a life-sized pirate ship where he fearlessly taunted the captain of the ship. Pierson was given a pirate name and a hand-crafted sword, which he will keep as mementos from his wish day. Pierson’s wish created memories that will stay with his family for years to come. Make-A-Wish Oklahoma provided the family with an experience they will never forget and would like to say thank you to our generous sponsors for helping us throw a great Pirate Party for Pierson: Nexus Productions, Inc., Putnam City North High School, SilverWolf Productions, Sara Sara Cupcakes, Linet's Cakes, Oklahoma Children's Theatre, VIP Limo, Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Lawrence Grech!
