10th Annual Wish Luncheon Helps Grant Wishes for Oklahoma Children
Make-A-Wish® Oklahoma is hosting the 10th Annual Wish Luncheon- “A Bag Full of Wishes” on Tuesday, March 7 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The auction begins at 11:00 a.m. and a wonderful lunch is served at noon. This year, the luncheon will feature keynote speaker and wish recipient Rylan, whose wish was to meet dinosaurs!
The silent auction includes vintage to new handbags, jewelry, luggage and accessories. The fabulous items have been donated by various boutiques, individuals and celebrities. All of the proceeds will stay in the state of Oklahoma to grant wishes for children suffering with life-threatening illnesses to bring them hope, strength and joy.
“The annual Wish Luncheon is such a powerful and fun way to connect with women and men who share the vision of philanthropy for these children.” said Lenice Cattley, chair of the event committee. “It is truly a touching experience that only requires me to take time out of one lunch in my year to support an organization deeply devoted to uniquely impacting and empowering each child through their program. Granting wishes is not only about bringing some kind or normalcy into a impacted child’s life, but instilling hope in their battle.”
Over the past decade, this luncheon has grown into one of the most anticipated charity events in Oklahoma City. There are currently 193 children waiting for their heartfelt wish to be granted. Tables of 10 are available for $1000 and individual tickets are available for $125 each by contacting Kendra Loper at 405-286-4000 or email@example.com. Loper may also be contacted about sponsoring the event and donating items for the auction.
The 2017 event committee includes Stephanie Corey, Laina Davidson, Kim Denny, Shannon Edwards, Katie Fitzgerald, Tawney Fitzhugh, Jamie Fuller, Lori Garcia, Kelley Hughes, Neta Irwin, Erin Lemmerman, Donna Lisle, Carly McDavid, Shannon Presti, Marissa Snowden, and is chaired by Lenice Cattley.
Make-A-Wish Oklahoma grants the wishes of children, ages 2 ½ to 18, who are facing life-threatening illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
